Solo Bob Fans

Career day at my school has become one of the highlights of the year. Most students actually look forward to it as a way to actually get information as opposed to merely seeing it as a way to get out of class for an hour or so.  One of the other teachers started something new a few years ago.  She invited an insurance agent whose company specializes in income protection insurance.  She  had him do an demonstration on the benefits of the policy.  Then, when she introduced the other speakers, she had the agent discuss with them the statistics and likelihood of one becoming injured in each different occupation. On the surface, it sounded macabre, but overall it did get a lot of interest for each of the individual speakers. The other speakers were very good sports about hearing how they could become injured going about their day to day work.
