Great timing for the engineer
Today was one of those days where I kept running into people who looked like they absolutely hated their jobs. I know that no matter what you do for a living, there are just some days where you just flat out don’t feel like doing it. Even if you love the job and have an avocation for it, sometimes it’s just terrible. Everyone around me lately has looked like that. Just when I was starting to wonder if it was something I was inadvertently causing, the bus boy at my favorite coffee bar slammed his tray into the sink, vaulted over the counter and announced that he was going to school to become a telephone engineer. That was clearly someone who had harnessed his job frustration and turned it into working towards a career goal. Upon further investigation, I discovered that he been saving up to go to school and at that precise moment had earned exactly enough money to go.
